Gus Pelogia

Gus Pelogia came to SEO after six years in journalism and now has more than a decade in digital marketing. He is SEO Product Manager at Indeed, working on an enterprise platform that runs to millions of pages. It is not an advisory job: he turns search requirements into Product Requirement Documents for engineering teams, builds roadmaps, and runs SEO A/B tests to find out what a product change actually did. Hypothesis led experimentation connects the change to the outcome, which at that scale is the only way anybody knows.

His career has taken in Argentina, Brazil, the Netherlands and Ireland, in house and in consultancies, covering enterprise SEO, website migrations and product led search. Before Indeed he spent five years in leadership roles at Spark Foundry and Wolfgang Digital, working with everything from travel to ecommerce.

The work has been recognised by The Drum Search Awards and the Irish Content Marketing Awards. He has judged international Search Awards, spoken at BrightonSEO, and contributes to industry discussion through podcasts and specialist publications.

Before search he worked for major Brazilian media organisations including MTV and R7. You can see that grounding in how he treats content quality and editorial judgement, and it sits surprisingly well next to product management. Not many people in search can write a requirements document an engineer will accept and an article an editor would actually run.
