Jason Hennessey

Jason Hennessey started reverse engineering Google’s algorithm in 2001 and has spent more than two decades in organic search since. He is entirely self taught, and the technical depth came from working the problem rather than being shown it. He built his reputation in the legal sector, one of the most contested search markets there is, where he worked out exactly what it takes for a law firm to hold its visibility.

He has written two bestselling books, Law Firm SEO and Honest SEO, both documenting methods that came out of campaigns rather than theory.

Hennessey has founded and exited several businesses. He launched Everspark Interactive in 2009 and later sold it. In 2015 he founded Hennessey Digital and grew it from a consultancy into a company turning over more than $20 million, with a place on the Inc. 5000 for six straight years before its sale to Trinity Hunt Partners. He helped establish Herringbone Digital, a private equity backed platform that acquires and scales specialist marketing companies, where he sits on the board as one of its largest shareholders.

His current work joins search expertise to business growth and the changing role of AI in marketing. He founded iloveseo.com to publish industry analysis and hosts The Jason Hennessey Podcast, speaking regularly at conferences and executive events. His work has appeared in The Washington Post and Entrepreneur. He holds an Executive MBA from Stanford and a marketing degree from UNLV, and is a United States Air Force veteran.
